As part of Edgemoor’s leadership team, Brian helps shape the firm’s business strategy, structure, budget and staffing. Additionally, he is responsible for identifying opportunities, forming partnerships, sourcing debt and equity, negotiating contractual arrangements, and overseeing projects. Brian has extensive experience in project finance and development, with a track record of success in working with owners to overcome complex real estate challenges. As CEO of Edgemoor-Star America Judicial Partners, the project company that developed and now operates the Howard County Circuit Courthouse in Maryland, Brian led the bid, oversaw delivery, and now has overall responsibility for the award-winning facility's operations and maintenance. Prior to joining Edgemoor in 2013, he was with Poseidon and helped develop the $1 billion Carlsbad Seawater Desalination P3 in San Diego County.
Brian holds a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. He is active in the infrastructure industry, speaking at conferences and seminars and authoring white papers and articles, helping advance alternative project delivery models in the U.S. He currently serves as a Board Member and Secretary of Healthcare Heroes Housing Inc., a non-profit focused on providing attainable housing for healthcare workers. A previous Treasurer for the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation in Carlsbad, CA and a Member of the Water Environment Foundation (WEF), Brian is also active in the water/wastewater industry. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as coaching and playing basketball.
