New Long Beach Civic Center Open Houses Raise Community Awareness

Through Edgemoor leadership by Jeff Fullerton, the project team held or participated in more than 120 community meetings, hosted countless discussions with various city departments, the port, and area residents, and sought ways to improve upon the original proposal and bring the best value for the city of Long Beach and its citizens.

On Saturday, November 1, 2014, the City of Long Beach hosted an Open House to raise public awareness for the new Civic Center project and give the community the opportunity to see and comment on both project team's plans to create a new civic center for the same cost as maintaining the existing complex. The new Civic Center complex will include a new City Hall, Main Library, parking facilities, and revitalized Lincoln Park.

The Plenary Edgemoor Civic Partners (PECP) team was represented by members of Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, Plenary Group, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill  (SOM), and Clark Construction—community members in attendance asked numerous questions about the plans and process—with many residents excited and anxious to see the project break ground.

To date, the PECP project team has held or participated in more than 120 community over the past year.
